Havant and Waterlooville Football Club is delighted to announce the return of Reuben Swann on an initial 2-Month Loan deal from EFL Championship side Portsmouth.
Swann, 19, joined Portsmouth from AFC Sudbury in June 2024 signing his first professional contract at Fratton Park. Reuben joined AFC Sudbury’s academy as a first-year student following his release from Colchester United Academy and transitioned to central midfield having previously played at centre back whilst at Colchester. In his first year, he played a key role in AFC Sudbury’s Suffolk FA U18 Cup victory scoring twice in the final in a 5-1 win against Needham Market Academy. Reuben made his AFC Sudbury first team debut in the last game of the 2022/23 away at Great Wakering F.C. Swann spent the 24/25 campaign on loan with the Hawks where he went on to make 43 appearances, scoring 7 and assisting 6 in all competitions. Following his season in PO9, Swann returned to Portsmouth where he continued his training and development and even featured in Pre-Season against the Hawks. Reuben returned to the Hawks on loan in a spell that was unfortunately cut short due to injury but did see him score on his second debut for the club!
Reuben now returns for a third loan stint with the club having recovered from his injury and we are thrilled to have him back with us at Westleigh Park!
Welcome back to the Hawks, Swanny!
