The hosts were quickest out of the blocks, opening the scoring after just 3 minutes. Afforded the time and space on the edge of the area, Albert Hopkins swept a left footed strike past Dudzinski and in to give Danny Greaves’ side an early lead.
An opportunity for quick response would fall the way of Ryan Seager. A slipped ball through from Callum Kealy saw Ryan Seager in the penalty area, he got the shot away but was denied by Phillips.
Another chance would present itself for the Hawks after some good work from Ryan Seager. He turned away from a couple of Frome defenders but saw his effort again saved by Phillips.
Callum Kealy would make the breakthrough for the Hawks as he controlled a ball into feet from Pendlebury, he spun away from his defender and slotted an effort past Phillips into the bottom corner!
The Hawks continued to defend well and limit Frome to very little, while the hosts continued to make it hard for the Hawks to control the tie as the game ticked into half-time, the sides were evenly matched.
HALF TIME: FROME TOWN 1-1 HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE
The Hawks started the second half strongly pressing for an opening to grab a second goal but Frome defended well to limit the chances.
A ball through saw Kealy chasing into the penalty area, he looked to cut a ball back towards Whittingham but the cross was deflected onto the post.
While continuing to try and create opportunities, the Hawks would win a number of corners but Frome each time were able to clear their lines and prevent any clear chances from forming from the set-pieces.
Despite the Hawks’ best efforts, they couldn’t find a way to find a winner and the tie drew to a close with each side gaining another point to their tallies.
