3-2

The Hawks struck the crossbar after just 10 minutes as a deflected effort went spiralling onto the crossbar, Kealy on the follow in looked like he had opened the scoring but Rea was just able to beat him to the ball and clear over his own crossbar.

A bright start from the Hawks was eventually rewarded as they took the lead halfway through the first period as Keane Anderson latched onto an excellent pass from Harry Sidwell before dispatching his effort into the bottom corner past Haigh.

Dominance from the Hawks continued, this time it was Laidlaw hitting the far post from a wide area, before chances falling in favour of the Hawks but nobody could find the target.

HALF TIME: WORTHING 0-1 HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE

The Hawks continued the second period the way they’d managed and controlled the first period with chances to extend their advantage coming and going.

The hosts equalised against the run of play as Jack Spong struck from a close range freekick, picking out the top corner.

Seager was on hand to restore the Hawks’ lead just minutes later, as he finished off a swift counter attacking move by the Hawks. It was a pair of the Hawks subs that were involved, Atangana drove the move forwards before spotting Kealy wide. He controlled and delivered into the area where Seager was on hand to beat Haigh.

Defensively the Hawks stood resolute as the onslaught came from Worthing who went in search of an equaliser but despite the Hawks still looking to pose a threat on the counter, the hosts managed to get their second of the afternoon pulling the game square again.

It was a couple of moments of madness that cost the Hawks the tie, after Willard found the equaliser as the Hawks failed to clear, Faal won a header at the front post converting the winner and eliminating his former club from the cup.

The Hawks were unable to find their third and walked away from the game empty handed having put on a fantastic display against a top side from the division above having been the team on top for the vast majority of the tie.
