In the 11th minute, Portsmouth crafted an early opportunity. Christian Saydee’s volley bounced off the ground, prompting Hawks’ goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski to spring into action and prevent the Blues from taking the lead.

Pompey took the lead with 19 minutes played after Saydee found the net. Trialist E attempted to clear the ball away from the Hawks’ goal but only managed to send it as far as the edge of the box. Saydee took his opportunity, turning past the Hawks defender, beating Dudzinski to finish the move.

Portsmouth’s Callum Lang received the ball on the right hand side following a defensive clearance from Joe McNerney. However, his attempt was blocked from Havant’s Brendan Willson, who executed a sliding clearance to deny Lang the opportunity to score.

With just under 5 minutes left in the half, Moxon controlled the ball from outside the box and seized the opportunity to shoot. He fired a powerful strike past Dudzinski, but his effort narrowly cleared the crossbar, resulting in a Hawks goal kick.

With a goal from Saydee, and the Hawks struggling to break through Portsmouth’s solid defence, this meant North’s Hawks side found themselves trailing 1-0 at the interval.

HALF TIME: HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE 0-1 PORTSMOUTH

Not long in to the second half, Riley Towler collected the ball at the edge of his own box and dribbled past two Hawks players. From 40 yards out, he launched a remarkable shot that sailed over the head of keeper Dudzinski, doubling the visitors lead to 2-0.

Not long after, Portsmouth extended their lead to 3-0. Trialist B capitalised on a well-placed cross, controlling the ball and slotting it past Havant’s keeper.

With 15 left on the clock, the Hawks had their first real chance at goal with a ball through to Trialist A slipping it past the Blues keeper. A sliding clearance from Portsmouth’s defence sees the effort cleared off the line.

Preston Woolston took a shot from the edge of the box, but it posed no threat to Portsmouth’s keeper Trialist C, who easily caught the ball without any pressure.

In the 78th minute, Portsmouth had a clear chance on goal, however Connor Mays effort was stopped in its tracks by Dudzinski. The Hawks’ goalkeeper made a full-stretched save, deflecting the shot and preventing it from reaching the net.

Tonight’s’ match ends in victory for the Blues as the final whistle sees the match end 3-0. Although not the result the Hawks had hoped, it was a good test for Havant to gain vital game time, as Pre-Season kicks on.
