The Hawks started the game on the front foot, with striker Emily Wernham winning a spot kick just 3 minutes into the game. Captain E-J May stepped up and converted from 12 yards.

Things would get better for the Hawks just under 10 minutes later with Wernham and May involved again. Some delightful link-up play down the left saw a ball put into the area for Sophie Lee to convert from inside the 6-yard box!

A dominant display continued to be built upon in the first period with Mia Gardner getting in on the action as she converted following a scramble in the US Portsmouth penalty area after a Hawks corner.

Wernham would finally get herself on the scoresheet just before the break as she latched onto a through ball before picking out the top corner with a brilliant effort.

The Hawks carried on the second period as they left off the first scoring just 2 minutes after the restart. May displayed some excellent creativity in attack to find Sophie Lee who picked out the bottom corner to grab her second of the afternoon.

It kept getting better for the Hawks as Emily Wernham was picked out by Potvin who had stepped forward into midfield. Wernham made no mistake as she showed excellent composure to finish off the move.

Emily Wernham would grab her Hattrick just after the hour with a scoop over the US Portsmouth keeper, before she grabbed her fourth after being put through one-on-one to make it 8.

Millie McNamara wanted in on the goalscoring action and she delivered with a stunning solo run through the heart of the opposition before finishing expertly around the keeper.

Lou Selvester scored arguably the pick of the bunch arrowing a thunderous effort into the top corner from range with the clock heading towards the 90

The Hawks had put on a fantastic display to start their Adobe Women’s FA Cup Campaign with a bang at HMS Temeraire which sees the side into the hat for the Third Qualifying Round after the withdrawal of Second Qualifying Round opponents Warrington Town
