The Hawks look for their first win of the season as St Albans visit Westleigh Park.

Jamie Collins comes off the back of a 4-2 defeat to Chippenham Town. It looked as though it was running smoothly when Roberts made it 1-0, but McCarthy’s lunging challenge put the Hawks down to 10 men just 10 minutes later. The Bluebirds flipped the game on its head with two ranged strikes courtesy of Evans and Williams before the latter was sent off for a second bookable offence. The second half got underway and Chippenham made it four thanks to Evans’ second and a sweet strike from Fasanmade. Busari got a consolation for the Hawks but it was too little, too late.

The Saints suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Yeovil Town on Saturday. Hyde opening the scoring at Huish Park and it was business as usual for the former National League side, before Weiss got Noble’s men back on level terms. It was only for 15 minutes though, as Murphy smashed home what turned out to be the winner and the Glovers got their first three points on the board.

The last time the Hawks met St Albans, you’d have to go back to March 2023, when we faced them twice in three weeks. We took a trip to Clarence Park but it was the Saints who were the victors. Tafari Moore opened the scoring, before Chay Cooper made it two and put the final nail in the coffin.

JC’S PREVIEW

Jamie Collins said: “We are looking at picking a team to get a result, due to our two losses it is now a massive game. We know St Albans are a possession-based team, they keep the ball well but we have to get a result.”
