Following this afternoon’s draw we have received confirmation of our opposition for Round 3 of the 24/25 Isuzu FA Trophy.
We will make the 44 mile trip up to The Laithwaite Community Stadium where we will take on Woking FC.
The Opposition:
Our opponents enter the competition at this stage so will face the Hawks in their first clash in this year’s competition
The Cards currently sit 18th in the Vanarama National League having amassed 20 points in 18 games. They also made it to the Emirates FA Cup First Round where they were defeated by EFL League One opposition Cambridge United at Home
The Hawks’ Journey so far:
Since entering the competition in the Third Qualifying Round, the Hawks have had 3 consecutive away trips.
A shootout victory at Badgers Hill Stadium saw the Hawks progress past familiar opposition in Frome Town. Alfy Whittingham gave the Hawks the lead before a late equaliser took the game to penalties where, Hawks Keeper, Ben Dudzinski made a decisive save as the Hawks won the shootout 5-4.
A First Round trip to The NL Services Stadium against Southern League Division One South side Bristol Manor Farm came next. Ryan Seager gave the Hawks a first half lead before the hosts equalised in the second half. For the second consecutive tie, the game progressed to penalties. This time it ended in a 4-2 scoreline in the Hawks favour as Manor Farm missed their first 2 penalties, the first cannoned off the bar and the second saved by Ben Dudzinski.
As the Step 2 sides entered the competition, Vanarama National League South outfit, Welling United would host the Hawks at Park View Road. Callum Kealy sent the Hawks ahead at the break before Harry Sidwell added to our advantage. The hosts pulled one back late on but in the end the Hawks deservedly progressed!
We’ll be on our travels once again in Round 3 and we will endeavour to bring you all the details for the game as soon as possible.
