Havant and Waterlooville Football Club is looking for an individual to help aid with sports science/strength and conditioning tasks. This internship is a voluntary role and would be ideal for someone studying in their final year of a sports science related degree. The successful candidate must be able to commit to a couple of mornings a week for training and matchdays for the 2025/2026 season.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Lead training and match day warm-ups.
- Help design and implement gym sessions for in-season strength and conditioning.
- GPS reports for both training and matches.
- Collection, storage and analysis of data collected.
- Work closely with medical staff to ensure high return to play standards are met and to assist with the rehabilitation of injured players.
- To assist the rest of the coaching staff with the day-to-day operations of the football club.
Desired attributes include:
- Working towards a Sports Science or Strength and Conditioning degree.
- Previous experience working with GPS systems, and knowledge of analysing data.
- Experience in planning and delivering gym-based sessions.
- Knowledge in designing and leading activation sessions and team warm-ups.
- Awareness of return to running and play protocols.
- Previous experience working within football and understanding the demands of the environment.
