The Hawks headed on a 300-mile round trip down to The Slee Blackwell Stadium in a game that ended as it started in a goalless encounter.
A slow start to the tie saw the Hawks controlling the possession as the two sides looked to figure out the best way to go about breaking down their opponent on a tough surface hindering the ability for either side to try and play out.
Both sides were limited to opportunities from range in the first 30 minutes of the tie as Olly Pendlebury and Ryan Seager would look to test Joseph Duncan for the Hawks and Charlie Cummins had the first sighter for the hosts but nobody was able to make the breakthrough.
In added time, the Hawks had another opportunity as a bouncing ball was met by Harvey Laidlaw, he sent a ball fizzing towards goal but his effort hit into teammate George Milner-Smith on the way through and he was flagged offside.
HALF TIME: TIVERTON TOWN 0-0 HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE
The second half saw more of the same, the two teams struggling to get a grip on the tie with limited opportunities as the Hawks again looked to control proceedings.
Ryan Seager collecting on the edge of the area was able to get a strike away but his effort unable to find the target as the game ticked on.
The chance of the tie fell to Leon Maloney as the Hawks number 10 was threaded into a channel of space. Racing towards goal, Joseph Duncan was quick off his line to close the angle and as Maloney sent an effort at goal, he was able to save with his feet.
The pressure from the Hawks continued as Tiverton struggled to get out of their own half, Milner-Smith was on hand to intercept an attempted pass from the hosts as he could then drive forward into space. He threaded the ball wide to Callum Kealy who saw his effort deflected behind for a corner.
Despite the best efforts of those in Hawks colours, they just couldn’t find the back of the net as the game drew to a close and the points were shared.
