In The Reverse

In the reverse fixture the Hawks came out as unfortunate losers in a sizable defeat. Sholing took the lead in the first half, accompanied with a crazy 5 minutes and two late goals, our visitors for Saturday came out as 5-1 winners.

 

Key People

Joint Managers: Paul Doswell – Paul Doswell is a recognizable name in non-league football and to Hawks fans. The former Sutton United and Havant & Waterlooville manager joined Sholing in October 2023. He helped Sholing survive last season by a single point but this season his side is looking at the other end of the table. Paul was the manager of Havant & Waterlooville between 2019-2023 and will be returning to face the Hawks at Westleigh Park.

Ross White – UEFA A licenced coach and part of the England elite coaching programme. Formally with QPR and
played a big role in the Aldershot Town academy. Ross was recently the Sutton United U18 manager before taking up a full time coaching and academy role at Sholing. It was announced this campaign that Ross would move into a ‘Joint Manager’ role alongside Paul Doswell

Captain: Byron Mason – Sholing’s club captain is their number 8, Byron Mason. Mason lives and breathes Sholing, making well over 700 appearances for the side and captaining the side for over a decade! He captained the side to FA Vase glory in 2014. Byron also holds a Player Assistant Manager role with The Boatmen

Main Threat: Romeo Akinola – After spending a couple of seasons at National League South side St Albans, Akinola signed for Sholing just before Christmas Day. Since then, he has been one of their star players. An exciting and tricky winger, Romeo is a handful for any defender he comes up against.
