The Hawks are back on the road again on Saturday when they travel to Hertfordshire to take on Hemel Hempstead Town.

This will be the Hawks 4th away clash in 5 games, and they will hope to pick up their first away win since beating Farnborough 4-2 on New Years Day.

Hawks last time out:

Havant suffered defeat when they travelled to London to take on promotion chasing Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday.

The Hawks came close to opening the scoring in the first half, with Adam Desbois having to pull off some great saves to deny Callum Kealy and Jack Jebb. However, Hampton & Richmond took the lead through Tope Fadahunsi in the 32nd minute, who slotted the ball into the net from wide.

The Hawks were denied an equaliser in the second half when Brendan Willsons header was cleared off the line by a Beavers defender. Charlie O’Connell ended any hope of a comeback when his shot from outside the box doubled the Beavers lead. The final score was 2-0.

Interim co-manager Cliff De Gordon had this to say after the game: “We had chances, so it wasn’t a game of being dominated. They’ve taken their chances, and we haven’t.”

“It’s a tough one on the boys because we played well, it’s just those fine margins that we keep getting beaten up on. Very unfortunate.”

“Theres 33 points to play for so we keep going. I’m a Havant person through and through and we just keep going.”

The Tudors last 5:

Hemel Hempstead 1-4 Chelmsford

Hemel Hempstead 1-2 Weston-super-Mare

Maidstone United 1-1 Hemel Hempstead

Weymouth 4-3 Hemel Hempstead

Hemel Hempstead 1-2 Welling United

Head-to-head:

Last time these sides met the Hawks beat the Tudors at Westleigh Park. It was an entertaining game that the Hawks dominated, creating several chances. Havant had to wait until the 79th minute to open the scoring, when Harry Jewitt-White’s shot from outside the box nestled into the back of the net. Sion Spence smashed in the Hawks second in the 4th minute of extra time, making the final score 2-0.

Havant and Hemel Hempstead first met in 2014, and since then they have played each other 15 times. The Tudors have taken the lion’s share of wins with six, but the Hawks have taken a respectable four. There have also been five draws.

The opposition:

In their last game the Tudors were defeated by Chelmsford City at Vauxhall Road. George Alexander opened the scoring for Chelmsford in the 3rd minute, and Jermaine Francis doubled the visitors lead twenty minutes later. Tyrece Briscoe was able to decrease Chelmsford’s advantage when he netted for the Tudors in the 32nd minute.

The Tudors entered the second half with high hopes, but ex-Hawk Charlie Ruff doubled the Clarets lead by the 50th minute. This made the final score 4-1 to Chelmsford.

The Tudors sit in 15th, with 11 points separating them from the relegation zone.

Hemel have been struggling for form recently, having not won a game since January. This is largely due to their leaky defence, who haven’t kept a clean sheet in 7 games.
