The Hawks currently have a number of long-term absentees from the squads as a result of various injuries picked up in fixtures. As a Club, we recognise the importance of communicating these issues where possible so our supporters can remain informed. This update, while may not be able to provide timelines on returns, aims to highlight the injuries each of our Players has suffered and where they are along their journey.
Club Captain Joe McNerney has been sidelined with a knee injury sustained early in the game against Walton & Hersham at Westleigh Park in early February. Joe has been making positive progress with his injury and we will continue to work with Joe in his recovery as he continues recovery work in the gym.
Seokjae Lee suffered a dislocated shoulder in our trip to Hanwell Town. Unfortunately, Seokjae has now suffered multiple shoulder dislocations over the course of the last 18 months so a decision was made to bring surgery forward for Seokjae. He underwent a successful surgery last week but will sadly miss the remainder of our season while he rehabs post operation.
Brendan Willson hasn’t featured in a Matchday squad since his start against Basingstoke Town at the end of February and disappointingly Brendan suffered a Quadricep strain in training following this game. Brendan, similar to Joe, is progressing well in his recovery and is continuing to work hard on his rehab and gym work with the aim of returning before the end of the campaign.
Kaya Tshaka returned from his loan spell with Bemerton Heath Harlequins at the end of February having sustained an injury but having worked with our medical team we are pleased to report that Kaya has made his return to training this week.
Young defender, Joe Goddard, sustained an MCL strain while representing our HSDC Academy in a National League U19 Alliance fixture. Unfortunately, Joe will miss the remainder of the season while he recovers. We will continue our support and programmes with Joe to aid his rehabilitation.
