Chairman Derek Pope can confirm Paul Doswell has officially departed Havant and Waterlooville Football Club.
Derek said: “Paul informed me of his decision this morning. I asked Paul to stay and help during the summer which he has done, specifically with the numerous tasks required off the pitch to run a football club at this level. Having done that job for me, he felt the timing was right.
“He leaves the football club in a far better position with the introduction of a fantastic 3G pitch, new floodlights and a superb office building that would not have happened without his expertise and investment.
“From a football perspective, in his first year the side finished 2nd and I am sure would have gone on to win the league that year. In year two, it saw us earn over £150,000 in the cup run, and being one game away from playing Tottenham Hotspur, as well as earning the club more than £100,000 in transfer fees. In his third year, we had a fantastic FA Cup run, which culminated in a brilliant day out at Charlton Athletic. Paul steered the club through two difficult seasons during the pandemic, which was a tough time for everyone at Havant and Waterlooville.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank Paul for everything he has done in his five years at the club, and is always welcome at Westleigh Park.”
