3-0

In the opening minutes of the game, there were early opportunities for the Hawks. Both chances came from Callum Kealy and were created by Reuben Austin, but on both occasions the shot was straight at the Moneyfields’ goalkeeper.

Moneyfields thought they had taken the lead early in the game with their striker slotting past Hawks keeper Ben Dudzinski. However, he had failed to spot the linesman’s flag going up for offside and put the ball in the back of the net after the referee had blown his whistle.

Just after the 10-minute mark the effective combination of Austin and Kealy reaped its rewards as the shot by Callum Kealy was cleared off the line by the Moneyfields defender. In a fortunate turn of events, the clearance came off another Moneyfields defender going past the goalkeeper into the back of the net and giving the Hawks a well-deserved lead.

Havant almost lost their lead shortly after they gained it. It was an unfortunate slip from the Hawks’ defence that let the Moneyfields striker in on goal, but a great fingertip save from Ben Dudzinski denied him.

With around 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Moneyfields thought they had an opportunity on goal but a great challenge from Reuben Austin meant that the attack came to nothing and the Hawks would keep the lead into half time.

HALF TIME: HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE 1-0 MONEYFIELDS

The Hawks tried to extend their advantage early into the second half after some great footwork on the edge of the box by Kaya Tshaka. He was able to get a shot away at goal which was well saved by the Moneyfields Goalkeeper, who pushed the shot away for a corner.

The early second-half pressure from Havant continuously resulted in another corner. The ball went into the box and reached a completely unmarked Nigel Atangana, whose header flew past the Moneyfields keeper and doubled the Hawks’ lead.

Havant controlled the ball for the majority of the second half and didn’t give away many opportunities to the visitors.

The Hawks won another corner in the 72th minute, where captain Joe McNerney’s header was well saved by the Moneyfields goalkeeper. However, there to meet the rebound was Ryan Seager, extending the home side’s lead to 3.

The match finished 3-0 to the Hawks which established a win in their final home game of pre-season. Next up is the final pre-season friendly away to Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday.
